The Torture Report

In September 2009 the American Civil Liberties Union began a project to give an account of the use of torture during the Bush administration. Larry Siems, Director of PEN America’s Freedom to Write programme, headed the project. The resulting report and relating documents are now being published under the title, ‘The Torture Report’.

On 11 January 2012 in New York City PEN America will hold an event to mark the 10th anniversary of the arrival of the first 20 captives at Guantanamo Bay Detention Camp.
