Freedom of Expression in a Time of Crisis: PEN at the European Parliament


eventOn Wednesday 15 April 2105, PEN International in partnership with the Greens/EFA Group in the European Parliament and with the support of the European Cultural Foundation will participate in a conference exploring freedom of expression challenges for writers around the world.

Held at the European Parliament, Brussels, the event will see writers John Ralston Saul, President of PEN International; Josep Maria Terricabras, former Chair of the Translation and Linguistic Rights Committee of PEN International and current Vice-President of the Greens/EFA Group in the EP; Josef Haslinger, novelist and President of German PEN; Tahmima Anam, Bangladeshi novelist and journalist; Kamila Shamsie, British-Pakistani novelist; and Emine Sevgi Özdamar, Turkish-German writer,  discussing freedom of expression in a time of crisis.
