MEXICO

PEN International and PEN Guadalajara have submitted a joint Universal Periodic Review (UPR) to the Office of the High Commissioner on Human Rights to comment on the state of human rights in Mexico.

The UPR Submission focuses on infringements of the right to freedom of expression in the country, specifically on-going attacks on writers and print journalists, since the 2009 UPR.

CHINA

PEN International has submitted a Universal Periodic Review (UPR) to the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights to comment on the state of human rights in China.

The UPR Submission focuses on infringements of the right to freedom of expression in the country, specifically in the areas of on-going attacks on writers and print journalists, book publishing, internet censorship and linguistic rights.

NIGERIA

PEN International, PEN Nigeria, Committee to Protect Journalists and the International Publishers Association have submitted a joint Universal Periodic Review (UPR) to the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights to comment on the state of human rights in Nigeria.

The UPR Submission focuses on infringements of the right to freedom of expression in the country, specifically in the areas of on-going attacks on writers and print journalists by the authorities and the militant Islamic sect known as Boko Haram
